Part 2 of the great Fall line up for C&W and Bluegrass fans: Friday, October 8 brings Steve Martin on banjo with the Steep Canyon Rangers to Santa Barbara for an evening of banjo and bluegrass. They'll be playing at the Granada, (just 7 blocks from the Bath Street Inn) as part of the UCSB Arts and Lectures Program.
Martin's album The Crow, New Songs for the Five String Banjo won the 2010 Grammy Bluegrass award, and it's going to be a toe-tapping night. If you haven't had the opportunity to see a show at the Granada yet, now's your chance. The acoustics are wonderful, and the $60 million renovation restored the sad old movie theater to a gem of a performing arts center. One word of warning, although the sound is great, the seats at the top of the theatre have virtually no leg room; I'm 5 foot 3 and felt squished, so go for a seat that costs a little more.
If you're looking for accommodation at a Santa Barbara bed and breakfast for the concert weekend, you'll be very welcome at the Inn, we'd love to see you.
